There are many qualities of hot tub covers.  The vinyl varies in quality and how many mil thickness.  There is also some that are UV resistant and mildew resistant.  Sometimes one or the other.  In addition how much stitching there is holding it together is a very important factor as well as the center core (what it is made of)

Also it is important to have a taper so that water doesn’t sit on your hot tub cover causing additional weight.  You can get 3/2, 4/3, 5/4 and 6/4 tapers.

We have three different options for you to choose from:

Good = 2 mil vapour barrier, rubber evaporation center seal, 2 end sealing pads

Better = 4 mil vapour barrier, overlap skirt at center seam, full foam center seal

Best = 6 mil vapour barrier, overlap skirt at center seam, full foam seal, triple stitched webbing reinforced locking straps

Overlap skirt at each end of the center seam which overlaps to help seal the edges and retain heat.

Full foam center seal is a foam cushion, sewn into the vinyl at the center seam to help seal the fold and retain heat.

Webbing reinforced straps are a strip of webbing sewn into the locking straps for greater strength.  The straps are then triple stitched into the cover.

Our hot tub covers are both UV resistant as well as mildew resistant which is really important in our climate.

Moral to the story – be aware of what you are purchasing.  Not all hot tub covers are made the same.  At Knapp’s Pools and Hot Tubs we carry only quality products to ensure our customers are not disappointed in us as a company or the products we choose to sell.
