Hot humid weather – Kingston Pools and Hot Tubs – Knapp’s Pools and Hot Tubs

With every 6 degree rise in ambient temperature your pool requires 50% more chlorine.  You need to ensure you are checking your chlorine feeder as well as your salt system may need to be turned up a bit to account for this.

Make sure you are getting your water tested by a pool professional every 4-6 weeks and test weekly for chlorine.  If your pool is properly sanitized, algae can’t grow.

You also want to make sure the the pH is in a neutral state along with adequate amounts of alkalinity in the water. Having low pH and alkalinity makes the water acidic and damages equipment.

Proper water care is essential for a trouble free pool.  Give us a call at Knapp’s Pools and Hot Tubs, we would be happy to help you take care of your pool and have a certified water professional to test your water.
