Wondering about how a salt system works? Essentially you have a ‘cell’ that is installed within your plumbing. This cell is controlled by a electronic system. There are metal plates inside the cell, which through an electrolytic process converts the salt to chlorine. Therefore your pool is still sanitized with chlorine however it’s without you having to handle chlorine.
Using liquid chlorine is an old fashioned way to sanitize your pool. It is very hard to control how much chlorine you are putting in the pool and bleaches liners very quickly.
Salt water feels much softer and really makes your management of the pool much less.
I like the Hayward System best as it has a digital display that tells you how many PPM (parts per million) of salt you have in the pool.
